Jenny Veile

Librarian, Videographer, Pie Maker…

I am a multi-talented information professional with a lot to offer, and while I may not have theability to wake the dead with my touch, I do have talents for reference and instruction, outreach, social media marketing, circulation, archives, research, cataloging, and the creation and management of multimedia content (video, text, photo, web).  I have worked and volunteered in public, special, and academic libraries.  I am dedicated to the use of emerging technologies in librarianship and other information work by promoting media literacy, copyright dialog, and the use of video in scholarship and learning.

I currently am the Multimedia Site Manager and Consultant for the University of Minnesota Libraries where I manage the SMART Learning Commons in the Walter and Wilson Libraries, teach video production and other multimedia skills, and work to promote and develop our media services within the academic community at the university.

In my free time I run the librarian blog Librarians are Weird and manage the active Facebook page.  I am also an independent filmmaker and web designer. And yes, I do make a killer apple pie when I’m not busy being an information professional, but that is just a bonus.

If you know of an opportunity that may interest me, please use my contact form.
